Too crowded

I had an interesting time at Excision’s Friday show at Echostage. When I first got there, the venue seemed comfortable and not too overwhelming. The staff was a little rude upon entry, but we made it inside just fine. For the first half of the night, we hung out in the back because one of my friends was getting overheated at the front. About an hour before excision came on, the crowd got so packed we had to leave to take a break. Throughout the rest of the night, we felt like there was no room to go anywhere to enjoy the show because of how crowded the venue got. The amount of people let inside the event was outrageous and genuinely ruined the experience for some of us. The event was “sold out” and it was clear that the amount of people attending was well beyond the venue’s capacity. We had to stand the the side of the stage for most of the time and missed a lot of the best aspects of the set. At one point, another of my friends wasn’t feeling well and had to squat down. She was immediately approached by a staff member and rudely told that she “couldn’t sit inside” and given no explanation or alternative to help. I am extremely disappointed in Echostage and the way this event was handled. Insomniac has clearly made the trade off to make more money at the cost of losing the integrity and fun of the performances.
